students participate in
Several weeks ago 18 Yeshivat Rambam High School students participated in the 3rd Annual Disability Awareness Expo and Wheelchair Basketball Game at the Owings Mills JCC, sponsored by the Center for Jewish Education (CJE). The Expo creates an awareness of teenagers and young adults with disabilities and provided a wonderful opportunity for our students to share their time and talents with the participants in the Expo. This was the second consecutive year that Yeshivat Rambam students were invited to play a wheelchair basketball game, which involved a tremendous amount of work in adapting their skills. The YR boys’ basketball team played the MD Ravens wheelchair basketball team, a team of expert disabled wheelchair players. The six YR girls conducted a basketball clinic for individuals with a various disabilities participating in the Disability Awareness Expo.
We are very proud of the students who volunteered to participate in this program and the community accolades we have received is a credit to these fine representatives of the best of Yeshivat Rambam. On behalf of our faculty, staff, and the Rambam Athletic Department, we wish to thank the following students for their unique contribution in making CJE’s program a success:
We continue to appreciate the way our students represent the spirit of generosity while serving others. Their participation as part of the Yeshivat Rambam experience has a positive impact on everyone involved. |
