| Visiting
Students from
For two weeks in November we had the privilege at Yeshivat Rambam of hosting Yishai Cohen and Yonatan Meislish, both twelfth grade students from Rabbi Adin Steinsaltz’s Makor Chaim Yeshiva. This program was made possible by a generous grant from the Aleph Society, an organization that supports the Rabbi’s philosophy, and forges a new partnership between Rabbi Steinsaltz, Yeshivat Rambam and Torah Mitzion Kollel of Baltimore. The boys attended classes and participated in activities at Yeshivat Rambam and their presence enhanced the love and appreciation our high school students have developed for Torat Yisrael. They also worked very closely with Bnei Akiva in an advisory capacity to initiate their first two sniffim. During their visit to Baltimore the boys got to experience many aspects of Jewish life in our Community. They volunteered for Ahavat Yisrael, worked closely the Torah Mitzion Kollel, participating in the Kollel Mishmar program, helped out with the eleventh grade carnival, and attended all the basketball games. The purpose of this exchange program is to make a connection
between our Yeshiva students with like-minded Israeli teenagers, to
increase
our students’ appreciation and love for Eretz and Medinat
Yisrael,
with the ultimate goal of making aliyah. We hope to continue this wonderful
program in the future with more visits by students from Israel. |
